Korean bulgogi

Here is a recipe for Korean bulgogi:

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb (450g) thinly sliced beef (such as sirloin or ribeye)
  • 1 small Asian pear, grated
  • 1 small onion, grated
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/4 tsp ground coriander
  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves
  • 1/4 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp ground allspice
  • 1/4 tsp ground cardamom
  • 1/4 tsp ground anise

Instructions:

In a large bowl, mix together the grated pear, grated onion, soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, garlic, sesame oil, black pepper, cumin, coriander, cloves, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, cardamom, and anise. Add the beef slices and toss to coat them evenly in the marinade.
Cover the bowl and refrigerate the beef for at least 1 hour, or up to 24 hours.
Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
Remove the beef from the marinade and shake off any excess liquid. Grill the beef until it is cooked to your desired level of doneness, about 2-3 minutes per side for medium-rare.
Serve the bulgogi immediately with rice, vegetables, and your choice of condiments (such as gochujang sauce or kimchi). Enjoy!
